In the 11th minute of the game, Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot against Mendy to give Real an early lead.
Marco Asensio doubled Real’s lead in the sixth minute of the second half with a comfortable goal from Benzema’s pass.
Alaves goalkeeper Roberto Himenez performed well to save Real from the third goal.
Alaves, who was under pressure throughout the game, could not avoid defeat as he could not convert the opportunity into a goal.
With this victory, the top ranked Real Madrid has collected 80 points from 35 games. Real are four points ahead of second-placed Barcelona.
Struggling against relegation, Alaves is 17th in the table with 35 points from 35 games.
