TOKYO: The Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been postponed for one year due to the the Covid-19 crisis.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and International Olympic Committee Chairman Thomas Bach called a conference on Tuesday and agreed to postpone the event for 12 months.
The Japanese Prime Minister said: “I proposed to postpone it for about a year, and President Thomas Bach agreed without any hesitation.
The Prestigious football tournament, such as the UEFA Euro Cup has also been scheduled to next year due to Covid-19 crisis. Now, the ICC World Twenty20 is also likely to be postponed.
Covid-19 has directly affected Nepali sports too. Now all sports activities across the country are stalled.
