The 22nd edition of the Budhasubba Gold Cup is starting from today 11 Fagun, February 22 in Dharan. In the opening match organiser Dharan FC is playing against UK FC India 3 PM at Dharan stadium.
Eight teams are participating in the competition both from home and abroad.
Dharan football Club’s Chairman Kishor Rai said that the prize of the competition has been increased to Rs 1 million to the winner and Rs 500,000 to the first runner-up after the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) upgraded Budhasubba to ‘A’ category.
Last year the winner team was given Rs 800,000 in cash and Rs 400,000 to the first runner-up.
Likewise, the organizer will use the recently introduced Video Assistant Referee (VAR)—the first of its kind in the country– from this edition of the competition.
