Nepal army is unbeatable team in this season. Army won 3rd Jhapa Gold Cup defeating Jhapa XI in penalty shoot out sudden death.
The first half remained goal less despite of few opportunities to both team. In the second half, both the teams did one goal. In the 51st minute of the match, Japa took the lead, Karna Limbu score the goal. In 79th minute, Bharat Khawas scored a goal and Army back to game .
The game reached the extra time of 15 minutes after the second round could not be determined the winner. The game reached penalty. Due to the 3-3 goals in penalty, game reached to sudden death stage. The army won by 8-7 in a sudden death when both teams hit 10-10 penalties.
Karna Limbu and Suman Manali from Jhapa who missed their penalty shot. On the other hand, nepal Army player Jitendra Karki’s shot went out of frame and Santosh Tamang’s shot denied by goalkeeper Kishor Karki.
Bhusan Subba, Yogesh Gurung, Devendra Tamang, Bishwas Shrestha, Pujan Uparkoti, Bikas Budhathoki and Dilan Loktam converted their penalty to Goals. Similarly, Nawayug Shrestha, Deepak Gurung, Bikesh Kuthu, Deep Lama, Bikas Tamang, Bharat Khawas and Suman Aryal were goal scorer in the penalty. Tank Basnet assured the title of the Army by converting the 10th penalty.
Nepal Army coach Chun Bahadur Thapa was rated the best coach of the tournament.
Nepal Army goalie Bikesh Kuthu was declared the best goalkeeper award. He received Rs.31,000.
Nepal Army Club Santosh Tamang was announced the best midfielder.
Jhapa XI midfielder has been adjudged the most valuable player of 3rd Jhapa Gold Cup. He was awarded with a motorbike.
Best defender award went to Jhapa XI Devendra Tamang.
Jhapa XI striker Karna Limbu received the highest goal scorer award. He was awarded with Rs.51000.
Sahara Club of Pokhara got the fair play award.
Jhapa XI player Bishwas Shrestha bagged man of today’s match. He got Rs.11,000.
