In the first match of the ICC ODI World Cup, Nepal has beaten 116 runs with Zimbabwe in its first match. Zimbabwe, who had chosen to bat first on the Allied Queens Sports Club on Sunday, made a score of 380 runs in the wicket of 6 wickets.
For Zimbabwe, Riaz made 123 runs while Taylor contributed 100 runs. Razza was declared as the player of the match. Solomon also contributed 52 runs. Basant Regmi and Sompal Kami took 2-2 wickets for Nepal on the bowling. Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbansi took one wicket each.
Nepal made only 264 runs by losing 8 wickets in the 50 overs. Sharad Veshwaker made 52 runs, while Arif Sheikh contributed 50 runs. Captain Paras Khadka also scored 40 runs while opener Gyanendra Malla 32 and Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed 30 runs.
Nepal will play its second game with Scotland. On Sunday, Scotland defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the second match of the Group B.
